NATIONAL BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME1960

The three-sport star (baseball, basketball and football) is the only player to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame. After a steller collegiate career which included the 1926 national championship in basketbal, he signed with the Cleveland Rosenblums but quit mid-season and returned to Syracuse to play for the All-Americans. He also played pro baseball for the Syracuse Stars in 1928. He became an assistant football coach back at SU before becoming head coach for seven years.

He married Dorothy Burns in 1932
