George Haines

Son of notable Pennsylvania pastor George (b. 1891) and Bertha (Burns) Haines. George Sr. also went to Bucknell, graduating in 1913. The Haines Family moved to Wyoming, PA, in 1929. In 1943, he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and later earned a Masters Degree at Pitt. He worked at the Mellon Institute of Industrial Research before joining Bethlehem Steel in 1960. He worked there until retiring in 1982.


George married LaVerne Frances (1925-2005) in March of 1952. The had a son and a daughter.
